The Way Young Lovers Do
On the way home last night, I cranked up this stellar cover, one of my favorite Van Morrison songs—The Way Young Lovers Do.
“♫ Then we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way, that we were and the way that we were meant to be […] ♫”
Did you know that Van Morrison honored Ray Charles and one of his favorite songs by adding the lyric— “♫ […] the night time/ yeah, that’s the right time/ to feel the way that young lovers do … ♫”?
Starsailor vocalist James Walsh captures Morrison’s essence of the euphoric emotions—the rhythmic peaks, beating, breathing in and out—this is how it feels when you’re falling in love.
The Way Young Lovers Do reminds me of dancing with my wife, before we were married, at our amigos Dave and Lindsey’s wedding. That was one amazing night—congratulatory jams and memorable times under the trees & stars with great friends.
“♫ And then we danced the night away/ and turned to each other, say—’I love you, I love you/ the way that young lovers do […] ♫”
